Superannuation
When working in Australia, you will get paid superannuation, which is retirement benefit. If you are not staying in Australia, you can’t spend or receive your money over here. This is the reason, why you are allowed to get your super back after leaving Australia. Usually your employer will offer to use the companies super- fund . If you are working with different employers though, you will have to collect all your money from different accounts later on. For each transfer or withdrawal you have to pay a flat fee of roundabout 35$.
Imagine you have worked for 6 employers and have 6 different funds. When transferring or withdrawing the money from each account you will lose 210$ just for transactions. Therefore, it is recommended to open one account you can use with each employer, so you will only have to pay 35$ once withdrawing all of your money when leaving Australia.
Which fund is the best?
That depends on what you are looking for. Usually it pays off to invest your super into shares and other funds on long-term. Being a traveller means, that it is most likely to leave Australia within 2 or 3 years. For short-term shares can be either very valuable or you can lose lots of money. There’s always a chance of winning or losing. Anyway I think money conservation is the most useful thing to do. Risk free funds are not very common and not that easy to find, but BT Super for life offers that option. It’s called „Super Cash“ and you’ll receive on average 1,9% interest rate . That is not much, but will be enough to keep your money at value. Furthermore, you don’t have to pay any broker fees, which are eating up your super. Super Cash has one of the lowest fees altogther – that’s why I have chosen it and recommend it to all travellers and conservatives as well.

If you want to camp in a national park, you usually have to get a permit. Mostly you are required to obtain a permit beforehand. Either you do it by phone call, run by an office (ranger or tourist information in some cases). On those websites you can perform that process easily online:
